...threehundredthirtythree/threehundredsixtyfive...

Decided we needed a matching portrait of the manchild for holiday cards.  My challenge was to replicate the one of our daughter from day 308.

No, I did not take this today but I did digitize and enhance it.  That counts, right?
We were doing some cleaning/organizing today and came across a lot of old pictures.  This was a picture I shot in 2007 while in Texas.  The bluebonnets were in full bloom so I pulled over (along with many other photographers) for a photo.  I love this shot and after our first snow of the season today, this scene really hits the spot.

I've had this spike since day 226 and knew it had some kind of potential, not sure if I nailed it but I gave it a good whack.

My daughter took my photos for me tonight.  She even set up a little backdrop studio.

...threehundredtwentyfive/threehundredsixtyfive...

I had an idea today, so I climbed to the top of my tree.  The idea wasn't there so I took some shots of lichen and my house.

I had another idea, so I drove out into the country.  The idea was there but it ran away before I could capture it.

I've had better days.

Where's Waldo?

Our tree is very sick.

Blue Moon

Just after this shot the idea ran away and my photography skill fell flat on it's face.

Starting my blog at 10pm after being at work for 13 hours is never fun.  I'll just have a cup of tea and call it a night.

...threehundredtwentyone/threehundredsixtyfive...

Sorry, I've been a bit bored lately.  Doing my best to combat early onset seasonal effective disorder.  Sunrise on the way to work and sunset on the way home, doesn't do great things for mood and creativity.  But I'm still here with only 44 days to go!   :)

Playing with some low angle flash with the (mostly) willing models in the living room

These fish have been in every house I've ever lived in.  They now inhabit the kid's toyroom.

I got home late and quickly threw my camera on the tripod for this 30 min exposure.  There's heavy light pollution in my yard but I wanted the trees lit just so.   The brightest streak is Jupiter.

This was my daughter's evening snack turned into a proud artistic sculpture.  Ever since she watched me playing with the mum petals a few weeks ago she's been inspired.

What make's this "art", you ask?  (how dare you)

Well, it's all in the strategic placement of that one lonely seed.

...threehundredtwelve/threehundredsixtyfive...

I had a massive headache this evening, so after a nap and some Tylenol what do I decide to do?
That's right, stare at a blinking light in the dark...brilliant.

When I was a baby, my mother, who is an extreme arachnophobic, would play the "little spider, big spider" game with me.  This game consisted of her, with a spider-shaped hand, lightly tickling my belly or back while saying softly, "little spider, little spider, little spider...".  Then unexpectedly she would jump her hand up and down, saying gruffly and loudly, "BIG SPIDER, BIG SPIDER!"  I would giggle every time.

I now love spiders...especially big ones.

Now if only someone had played "little snake, big snake" with me...

...threehundredten/threehundredsixtyfive...

I took a stroll down an old closed road in the woods that goes straight into a lake.  (you can see the "road" at the right side of the lake, drag the map to the left)

This time of year the water is very low so there's less of a lake and more of a mud pit at the end.  Nonetheless some interesting photo-ops and shoes that will likely end up in the garbage.
