Ring flash love

I received my DIY Photography ring flash kit today!  It took about 15 minutes to assemble (it would take any normal human 5 but I'm anal and meticulous, I even wore gloves so not to finger print the reflector).  Compared to a $300 "true" ring flash this performs like a dream for $25 buckaroos!
I immediately took it for a test drive.  Some quick portraits and then macro.

Decided we needed a matching portrait of the manchild for holiday cards.  My challenge was to replicate the one of our daughter from day 308.

No, I did not take this today but I did digitize and enhance it.  That counts, right?
We were doing some cleaning/organizing today and came across a lot of old pictures.  This was a picture I shot in 2007 while in Texas.  The bluebonnets were in full bloom so I pulled over (along with many other photographers) for a photo.  I love this shot and after our first snow of the season today, this scene really hits the spot.
