With all the excitement about TTV, I thought I might try something along a similar vein, yet different.  I set my old Yashica SLR on my table facing my camera with a fruit/veggie bowl behind it and took the shot backwards "Through The Viewfinder" of the SLR.

I really need Spring...I'm quickly running out of ideas trapped inside this house.  I've got some fantastic ideas and  locations for some nocturnal photos with startrails and lightpainting but it's so damn cold and snowy and cloudy and cold...

TTV (through the viewfinder) is an interesting technique that I haven't played with in a long time.  Over a year ago I built a TTV tube out of tin chimney pipe, electrical tape, and velvet.  The heart of this contraption is an old Kodak Duaflex twin reflex camera.

I know you are a rolling you're eyes now but it's a simple concept.  You take an old twin reflex camera, the little box ones with the big square viewfinder on the top (twin-reflex), and frame your shot in it's viewfinder.  Then you take your digital camera and focus on the image in the viewfinder of the old camera and take the shot.

It's really kind of a pain in the ass but it's a neat effect.
